Are KØL High-Density Fibre Cement panels non-combustible?

Yes. KØL panels are rigorously tested and certified to meet the strictest North American fire and building codes. Our panels have successfully passed CAN/ULC S114 and ASTM E136 (Standard Test Method for Assessing Combustibility), as well as NFPA 285 and ASTM E84 (Class A). They are approved for use on high-rise structures and anywhere non-combustible exterior cladding is required.

What is the advantage of "High-Density" fibre cement?

Density dictates durability. Standard or medium-density fibre cement can absorb moisture and is prone to impact damage. KØL’s High-Density composition provides superior pull-out strength for concealed fasteners, exceptional impact resistance, and long-term stability against harsh freeze-thaw cycles. How are KØL panels installed? Do you offer concealed fastening?

KØL panels are designed for integration into high-performance ventilated rainscreen facades. We offer two primary engineered approaches:

  • System-C (Concealed): Utilizing specialized undercut anchors by KEIL and an engineered aluminum sub-frame by Systea to provide a flawless, fastener-free aesthetic.

  • System-X (Exposed): A traditional face-fastened system using color-matched, high-quality stainless steel rivets or facade screws by Red Horse for a clean finish.

What level of maintenance is required after installation?

KØL panels are incredibly low maintenance. Because they are resistant to rot, pests, and severe weather, they do not require repainting or sealing over their lifespan. Routine maintenance simply involves occasional cleaning with water and a mild detergent to remove environmental dirt.
